Building the perfect home theatre

How many of you watched a film over Easter? Whether you’re a Die Hard fan, or Life of Pi is more your thing, have you ever considered turning one of the rooms in your home into your very own home theatre?

With the potential to add value to your home, and create something extra fun for your family to do together, this week our Hubbies are giving you some tips to create a dream home theatre room.

Paint colour
Choose warm and neutral colours to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. By keeping to these tones, the room won’t outdate quickly.

Lighting
Lighting is everything in a home theatre. By installing dimmer lights, you can adjust the mood for every type of movie.

Blinds/Curtains
If you have windows in your home theatre room, installing blinds or curtains is a great way to block light out when you want to watch a movie, and to let light in when you like.

Outdoor Theatre
For something a bit different, have you ever thought about building an outdoor theatre? This is a great one for the children and for hosting guests. It’s often as simple as buying a projector and using some white space. Ask your local Hire A Hubby about the best place to do this as it may require installing a white board onto your patio.

Time to hop into all those Easter holiday jobs

It’s that time of year again when our floppy eared friend is due to make an appearance and kids and chocolate lovers alike are eager with anticipation to discover what spoils the Easter Bunny brings come Sunday April 8.

The Easter Bunny will be visiting homes across Australia within the next week, so now is the time to make sure your home is prepared for all those expected (and some not so expected) house guests.

Hire A Hubby can help ease the stress when it comes to doing all those odd jobs around the house, which means you have more time to do the things you’d rather be doing this Easter break like planning an Easter egg hunt with the kids or firing up the barbeque and sharing some laughs with family and friends.

Our Hubbies are your go-to- men for all those pesky jobs that always seem to creep up and threaten to consume your precious holiday time. Our Hubbies can help make life easier these Easter holidays by assisting with:

  • Backyard maintenance
  • Repairing the deck
  • Cleaning up the backyard
  • Painting the pergola
  • Cleaning the gutter.

Easter’s autumn weather also reminds us that winter is fast approaching and it’s important to ensure your home is ready to cope with those cooler days and cold nights.

As autumn brings additional leaves and foliage, our Hubbies also recommend cleaning out those gutters, which if not sorted out can lead to additional damage and expense down the track.

Autumn is also a great time to paint that pergola and impress your holiday guests and friends. Call your local Hire a Hubby and give your pergola the face lift it needs so you can entertain with confidence.

We all know the holidays mean spending time outside with the kids, and we want peace of mind that our children are safe when they are playing in the backyard and enjoying the Easter break.

It‘s so easy for the backyard to quickly resemble a jungle and for leftover material and junk to become potentially hazardous areas for children.

If the thought of tackling your backyard this Easter is enough to send you running for the hills, then give our Hubbies a call and ensure your Easter egg hunt is filled with fun and adventure and not scraped knees and tears from all those unmanageable backyard hazards.
